Terms of Service

Last updated 2026-08-08

These terms are an agreement between Itmax Media LLC, a limited liability company registered in Texas, United States (“we”, “us”), and the church or organisation using Wordpromptu (“you”).

By requesting access or using Wordpromptu you accept these terms. If you are accepting on behalf of a church, you confirm you are authorised to do so.

1. What Wordpromptu is

Wordpromptu listens to your service through a microphone you choose, transcribes what it hears, identifies scripture references, and displays the passage on screens you configure.

It is an aid to your service, not a substitute for a person running it. You should always have someone able to take manual control.

2. Accounts

Access is by approval, not open sign-up. We may decline a request or withdraw access at our discretion.

Each church gets its own space at its own web address, and a set number of accounts: 2 administrators and 3 operators. Countdown-only accounts use an operator place.

You are responsible for:

Broadcast overlay links contain a secret token and will work for anyone who has the link. Treat them as confidential and regenerate them if one is exposed.

3. Acceptable use

You must not:

On translations: Wordpromptu provides scripture text for display in your service. Some translations carry their own licensing conditions, particularly for broadcast and streaming. Complying with those for your church's use is your responsibility.

4. Fees

Wordpromptu is currently provided free of charge. We will give at least 30 days' notice, by email to your administrators, before introducing fees. If fees are introduced you will be able to decline them and close your account without charge.

5. Cancellation and closing an account

You may close your account at any time by contacting us at support@wordpromptu.com.

We will give you at least 30 days' notice before closing your account, except where you have breached these terms or we are required to act sooner by law.

When an account closes we delete its data as described in the Privacy Policy. Export anything you want to keep — media, settings, transcripts — before you cancel.

6. Availability

We aim to keep Wordpromptu running and fast, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. It depends on your internet connection, your hardware, and third-party providers we do not control.

We may take the service down for maintenance, and will give notice where we reasonably can. We do not currently offer a service level guarantee.

7. Your content

Your media, settings, bookmarks and notes remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to host and display them for you. You confirm you have the rights to whatever you upload. We may remove content that breaches these terms or the law.

8. Speech and recording

Wordpromptu transcribes speech picked up by the microphone you select. You are responsible for:

What is stored, and for how long, is set out in the Privacy Policy.

9. No warranty

Wordpromptu is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Specifically: we do not warrant that scripture detection will be accurate. Speech recognition makes mistakes. Accents, background noise, room acoustics, paraphrasing and audio quality all affect it. The software shows a confidence score and lets you correct any detection by hand, and you should check what goes on screen.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Itmax Media LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or business interruption, arising from your use of Wordpromptu.

Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Itmax Media LLC against claims arising from your use of the service, your content, or your breach of these terms.

12. Changes

We may change these terms. For significant changes we will notify account holders by email and update the date above. Continuing to use Wordpromptu after a change means you accept it.

13. Ending the agreement

You may stop using Wordpromptu at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the service — and other than for a breach, we will give reasonable notice.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Texas, United States, and the courts of Texas have exclusive jurisdiction.

15. General

If any provision is unenforceable, the rest still applies. Our not enforcing a right is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer this agreement without our written consent. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us.
